Dear Anderson Families,
I am so happy and honored to welcome you back to the 2020-21 School Year.
There are many changes this year but the dedication and tenacity of the Anderson staff has not changed. We are dedicated to your children.
Many things we did easily in the past have been complicated by the Covid pandemic often causing us to distribute a variety of messages to up to three distinct groups of people instead of just one. Grant yourself and the school staff you work with some extra grace and time and I promise we will do all we can to support you and WE WILL get through this together and be stronger for it.
We are implementing this email system to help get through to all of you including many district level documents that have come out recently. If you hear of this email and did not receive it, your email in the system may be old or incorrect. Feel free to contact Anderson or the Board office to update any changes.
Our preferred method has been through
A proactive way to get information from the school is through one of several websites:
www.trentonschools.com is the official site of the district and has a tremendous amount of information on school services including bus routes.

A YOU TUBE video with Mr. Porecca, Principal at Hedke, and I has been created and will be live today on the Trenton Public School YouTube channel.
Our "Return to School Plan" has been made into an easy to watch video for your convenience. Thanks to our THS Digital Media Club, we identify procedures, policies, and expectations for students and families returning to in-person learning in the 7 minute video on TPS-TV Youtube channel. If you are not already a subscriber, here's how you can get to the video:
1) Click on this link: https://youtu.be/BFwTdHeLoKU or copy and paste this URL web address into your browser. This will take you directly to the video.
2) Or go to the www.trentonschools.com website. There is a hyperlink there to our TPS-TV channel. Click on where it says TPS-TV LIVE! in the left-hand side of the district page.
A quick run-down:
There are 4 strategies that are effective at diminishing the risk from Covid while we live our lives.
A few words about Anderson’s Construction Projects:
This year a lot has changed inside the building:
We have a completely renovated library (our old gym)
A brand new stem/computer lab (which has just finished construction today and will go live at some point soon) is almost ready to go online.
New spaces for our Special educators and support staff including flat screen TV monitors, new cabinets, individual space entrances etc. have all been completed except for some punch list items.
New alarms including security have been added.
A new PA system has been installed.
And of course last year the 2 new Kindergarten rooms and the Gym/Cafeteria/Music room all came online and were opened and the playgrounds were added to reworked and were in use last year. Still some work to do to add the basketball nets to the upper elementary playground but this should be completed shortly.
Wi-Fi updates were made throughout the building.
There are many more updates as well but those are the most exciting!
We are sorry that you cannot come in and see these impressive improvements but we will be making an additional YouTube video to show them off to you. We hope you and your child will be delighted.
Meet the Teacher:
A Meet the Teacher night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16th in the evening. Teacher will be conducting this session remotely and more information will come home from each teacher.
Arthurs Closet has been moved and taken over by Faith United Methodist Church on Charlton Rd. across from the Board of Education office and Trenton High School.
It is now called “The Community Closet” and will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11AM – 1 M and 5PM-7 PM.
They feature free quality clothing (donated or gently used) for Men, Women, and Children.
For parents who may need some child care during the week or while their child is at home days during F2F/Hybrid non-school days this option may be of interest.
Almost all Virtual and Remote chrome books have been distributed. The district is in the process of inventorying the rest for potential deployment to F2F/Hybrid students.
